Project: Changing Times: City of
Columbus Citizen Participation Survey
Survey Eligibility: Any Columbus
resident
Description: The City of Columbus
needs your help in setting its
priorities for the use of funds for
community development issues in our
city. Your responses will be included in
the citizen participation portion of the
2010-2014 HUD Consolidated Plan to be
submitted to the federal government. The
Consolidated Plan is a collaborative
process to identify housing and
community development needs and to
establish goals, priorities and
strategies to address those needs,
especially for low and moderate income
households. Your input is needed to help
identify how the City of Columbus will
spend its federal HUD dollars over the
next 5 years.
Project: Minority Community
Recruitment Initiative African American
Consumer Engagement Survey
Survey Eligibility: African
American Mental Health Consumers or
Family Members of Consumers
Description: This project is
designed to solicit input from minority
parents, consumer, and potential
advocates not engaged in the mental
health system to measure attitudes,
motivations, social and soci-economic
factors that encourage or deter
ethnically and culturally diverse
populations from participating in
advocacy and engagement within the
behavioral healthcare system. This
survey, along with 10 regional focus
groups, will be used to formulate a
guide for engaging African Americans in
consumer advocacy and volunteer
capacities.
